Labour Law session 2 - 2019

The managers and HR professionals will have the occasion to discuss topics like the payment of the salary in case of sickness or accident, data protection and transfer of information abroad, the obligations of the employer and the employee, wrongful termination, how to obtain a work permitt. We offer a practical approach to enable participants to gain specific and up-to-date knowledge of employment law, international social security and business immigration. Case studies will be discussed, as well as recent case law rendered by Swiss courts. This course is open to all interested persons and prior legal knowledge is not required.

Objectives

  • to present the basis of employment, immigration and international social security law;
  • to allow each participant to acquire the knowledge needed to properly understand the rules and regulations and foresee problems within these three subject matters, which are essential in the daily management of a company.

Organisation

The five modules can be attended as a whole or separately. The modules start at 8.30 am and finish at 12.00

Module 3 : Employment Law, part.3 (Tuesday, October 15th)

  • Employment agreement termination
  • Immediate termination for good cause
  • Mass dismissals
  • Transfer of the employment relationship
  • Work certificate
  • Prohibition of competition

Module 4  : International Social Security (Tuesday, October 29th)

  • Problematic of international moves
  • EU regulations
  • Treaty countries
  • Non treaty countries
  • Voluntary insurance in Switzerland

Module 5 : Immigration (Tuesday, November 5th)

  • Visa requirements and Schengen visa
  • When is a permit required ?
  • Type of work permits and applicable quotas
  • Admission criteria for EU and non-EU nationals
  • Posted workers
  • Procedure of online announcement up to 90 days
  • Family regrouping

Notes

A range of study materials are provided with every course. A certificate of participation will be issued to participants.
